NCAA suspended on Thursday suspended all domestic flight operations!
The airline is owned by businessman and Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim.The airline’s spokesman, Ogbogoro Samuel, confirmed the development in a statement.
It reads, “The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended our flight operations effective immediately over alleged indications that the airline is in financial distress.“We wish to apologize for all the inconvenience that this order by the NCAA will bring on our passengers and wish to assure that Air Nigeria will continue to liaise with the relevant agencies to ensure that the suspension order is lifted as soon as possible.
Management”The Federal Inland Revenue Service had on Wednesday dragged Air Nigeria Development Company Limited and its Managing Director, Mr. Kinfe Kahssaye, before an Abuja Federal High Court, with failure to remit N4.871bn in taxes to the Federal Government.
The 11-count-charge, which was signed by the Assistant Director, Tax Investigation and Special Enforcement Department of the FIRS, Mr. James Binang, was brought pursuant to Section 174 (1) of the 1999 Constitution and Section 47 of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Establishment Act, FIRSEA 2007.
