How Angela Onyeador truly died!












The number of the top movers in the entertainment industry depleted again with news of the death of popular Lagos socialite and businesswoman, Angela Onyeador.The former beauty pageant organizer and founder of African Foundation for Arts seen as one of Nigeria’s most glamorous society ladies died on Monday in the US.Showtime however has learned that the beautiful woman of substance had been battling with a terminal disease suspected to be cancer since 2010, which made her disappear from the social arena for months in search for solutions to her health problems.


Unfortunately, she did not resurface and eventually gave up the ghost.Angela OnyeadorThe top society woman  who was an avid collector of paintings, sister to Stella late wife of the late Biafra Warlord, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Aunty to Amarachi Kanu, ex footballer Kanu Nwankwo’s wife died in her 50s.Born to Mr. Alexander Onyeador from Arochukwu in Abia State, Angie as she was fondly called, was brought up in Shell camp in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

She attended Shell Camp primary school before proceeding to Queens College, Lagos. Later, she attended the University College London where she graduated with a degree in Psychology. Angie is remembered as one of the pioneers of beauty pageants in NigeriaAngela during her active years in the social scene, was the yardstick for measuring the sophistication of  other female socialites.

She was the envy of all and men who were not sure of themselves had no choice but to flee at the sight of her. She was one of the queens of high society and many young ladies aspired to be like her. She bestrode society like a colossus and every other person had to follow her tempo.In fact, she was the society queen. A public relations expert per excellence, her contribution to development of arts in the country is immeasurable.

As a public relations consultant, the Arochukwu, Abia State native, had at various times promoted African arts, music, hairstyle and beauty. She was the one who dragged the organizers of the Miss World to Nigeria a year after Agbani Darego won the pageant.A real woman of substance, who exhibited her beauty and was seen in all facets of life, she will be greatly missed by all especially people in the entertainment industry and her immediate family. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
