Mr. McMahon(!!!), (who I swear had forgotten Smackdown is even a thing) opens the show, introduces us to the new GM, Booker T, and immediately disappears without saying another word. Great to see you, Vince. Thanks for chipping in. Lillian Garcia couldn’t have possibly done that for you.
As Booker starts thanking people and hyping the new era of Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio arrives to congratulate him on his promotion. Booker T is all “Don’t kiss my ass, dawg” until Sheamus comes out and invites him for pints after the show, which isn’t kissing up at all. The new GM makes Del Rio vs Randy Orton the main event, and having Sheamus immediately face “This guy right here”
